Working Game Mockup

This is a plan view of the game with more or less everything you need to play set up in the starting position.

A few of the tactical cards.

This is what a player might see during a game. It's his turn, so he has the dice. The tactics cards are face down on the right for the element of surprise. And he's acquired five supplies in his stockpile.

Preliminary Layout/graphics

These are Ideas for the game board layout and integration of game mechanics

These are thumbnail sketches concerning supply/company logos which would be on the corresponding cards. There are four different supplies here for the main player company logos. From top to bottom there's red medical, green hydroponics, yellow atomic energy and blue water desalination.

Preliminary Board Game Layout

This is a possible configuration for the main game board. All players start at the center and move along spaces on the paths where they collect the supply cards on the periphery.

This is what a player's spot would look like. The big card on the left keeps track of which cards you need and displays them for prospective robbers. On the right are your tactics cards which you keep face down if you're smart.

This is just an enlargement of the launchpad. All players start on their respective color and take the path before them. When coming back to the pad to end the game, it doesn't matter which color you land on.

  • Player keeps their supply cards in a line in front of them face up. Tactical cards face down.
  • four companies/players are different science/space disciplines who start out with 1 card of their respective trade supply. Each company is color coded to one of four colors
  • pick up candidates/people as you move
  • old oregon trail/Sweet Valley High
  • Asteroid can move closer as you move or as certain events unfold or cards are drawn or both. Goes around the edge of the board  Asteroid tracker could be cut from the game in lieu of a more simple rule that says first one done wins no matter how long it takes. The tracker would only really exist to cause a no win game where time runs out.
  • A player can’t run out of their base supply unless they are all gone from the pile

Board Game Mood Board

This is a small mood board of one of the art directions I could go with the game. It would be a sort of B-movie or retro 50's futurism graphics and motif.
